# The Problem

### The problem with traditional trading platforms

In the current landscape of crypto, most platforms follow a **value extraction** model. They charge high trading fees, **often up to 1% per transaction,** costing users thousands over time with no benefits. \
traditional platforms don't move fast enough to develop cutting edge tools leaving traders with missed opportunities to profit.

To date, over **$2 billion** has been extracted from the Solana ecosystem alone. Platforms such as Photon, BullX and Axiom have collected hundreds of millions in trading fees, while the broader trading community sees none of that value reinvested. In fact, more than **$1.5 million** is removed from the ecosystem **every single day** through platform fees, with no return to users or developers.

This model not only isolates traders but also stifles the growth and sustainability of the broader crypto market.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.trade.fun/getting-started/about-trade.fun/the-problem.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
